Rated wattage gives an estimate if the appliance draws that power throughout. Fridges, washing machines, tumble dryers, heat pumps and variable-speed devices may cycle or vary their power draw. If you have measured kWh from a smart plug, monitor or appliance data, use measured kWh instead.
